What are your expectations when they come to the end of their time in this room?
Our intention for the children when transitioning from this room is to be confident mark makers and explorers ready to seek out new experiences. To be confident in meeting new people and familiar with nursery rhymes with actions, walking and developing self care skills such as potty training(with support of parents) , beginning to self serve at meal times and have a rage of vocabulary developed ready to build-on.
What skills and knowledge do they have when they transition into the room and how are these built on?
Children starting this room are transitioning from being at home with a parent/carer so meeting the child’s needs and parents requests are very important. Also working with parents for things such as adjusting sleep routines and milk times whilst supporting the child to become confident coming into nursery and separating from their main carer is the first step. When the child has settled in the team encourage and promote physical development, social and emotional development and communication and language.
What is the learning intent for that room?
